QTCU helping kids breathe easy
Most of us give little thought to each breath we take, but for some of our youngest Queenslanders every breath is a struggle.
With more than 50 per cent of Australian infants experiencing some kind of respiratory virus in their first year of life, raising money to fund vital research into the causes of respiratory illness in young children has the potential to impact millions of children both in Australia and worldwide.
That is why QTCU is partnering with the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation in a groundbreaking charity partnership to help Queensland's sick kids breathe easier.
Through working together to raise funds for vital respiratory research with the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, we hope to unlock the mysteries behind respiratory illness in young children.
Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so by going to www.qtcu.com.au/kids-breathe-easy or visiting a QTCU branch.
Keyway Program
As a financial pillar of society, QTCU takes its leadership position very seriously. In addition to providing services to members that help achieve their goals, the credit union considers it has a responsibility to help shape healthy financial and lifestyle habits in young people. Through the Keyway program, QTCU demonstrates values of:
- corporate social and ethical responsibility;
- moral integrity;
- respect; and
- financial prudence.
The Keyway program consists of two presentations: the Financial Coaching Program delivered by Ms Liz Vella, and the Lifestyle Coaching Program, a motivational presentation on lifestyle issues conducted by Mr Eric Bailey.
National Industry Award
In 2006, our Keyway program received recognition by winning the national 2006 Credit Union and Building Society Community Award.
