Gympie Special School $30,000 staffroom makeover revealed
Staff at Gympie Special School are in for a jaw-dropping surprise when the school's brand new dream staffroom is revealed on Wednesday 10 February.
The dream staffroom comes after Gympie Special School took out Queensland Teachers’ Credit Union’s Staffroom for Improvement competition to win a $30,000 staffroom makeover.
The competition saw more than 40,000 people vote for more than 1,000 schools in Queensland.
Queensland Teachers’ Credit Union chief executive officer Mike Murphy said the staffroom had been off limits for two months while workmen and designers sweated it out to create an environment the staff truly deserved.
“We are excited to finally reveal the new staffroom to the wonderful staff at Gympie Special School,” he said.
“For such a small school to garner so much community spirit and beat so many larger schools is just amazing.”
“On behalf of everyone at QTCU, I extend my congratulations to Gympie Special School and hope all the staff enjoy their brand new staffroom.”
